Review:

The battle of Janey Belle's life...or un-life begins as she faces Xula in a knock-down, drag-out battle of the supernatural. It's Voodoo versus the Necronomicon. Clearly only one of them is walking away from this.

Every issue of Zombie Tramp has been building up to this. I'm not certain that it was always this intentional, however Xula claims she's been pulling strings in Janey's life for ages, even before she was bitten by a zombie. Some of this is a little too convenient, however it does set up Xula as a true nemesis, heightening her qualities as a villain.

Much of this chapter is a Dragon Ball Z-esque battle as Janey and Xula exchange energy blasts and leap from page to page. Janey's attacks have a blue shade to them, while Xula's are red. Artist Celor has a talent for art direction, keeping the action fresh and exciting. There are some great, non-traditional panel layouts that aid this too.

The signature style of Zombie Tramp is on display in full force with Janey and Xula fighting in small bikinis. Their oversized breasts flopping this way and that. At times, it looks like they're either hitting each other with their boobs, or being slapped by their own when being thrown backward. It's more than a little ridiculous, but that has always been the case with this series.

Celor's artwork is a little inconsistent throughout the issue. Some pages are well detailed while others look like they need one more pass, appearing almost sketch-like. The basic form is there, but it lacks depth.

Xula is attempting to put her final plan into motion, but Janey has learned a lot since being resurrected so this will be no easy task. This is a battle between two major opposing forces. You've seen Spider-Man vs the Green Goblin and Batman vs the Joker. Now, witness the Zombie Tramp vs Xula. The stakes are high. The fight is personal. It is only going to get bloodier as it goes on.
