Funny Book Splatter 018: Joseph Oliveira

This week I had a chance to speak with Joseph Oliveira, the writer of Ghost Island, currently on Kickstarter.  The book has one of the best pitches I’ve heard in years.  It’s Jurassic Park...but with ghosts.  Think about that for a minute.  Joseph is currently crowdfunding the release of the second issue of the series.  I’ve backed the project myself and I encourage you to do the same.

Joseph can be found online through Twitter. Ghost Island can be found online on Twitter and Facebook.

Joseph and I connected through Twitter as he was an early listener of Funny Book Splatter.  If you are a horror comics creator and want to chat about your project and the genre in general, please reach out either through email here or through Twitter @JamesFerguson.

In other news, I’m super excited that the next episode of Raging Nerdon is the milestone collector’s edition #50.  It’s been a helluva ride and we have some fun in store for this big episode, including a special giveaway including comics, graphic novels, pins, prints, and more.  You’ll have to listen to the episode to hear a secret word to enter to win.  Check it out at RagingNerdon.com or whereever you get your podcasts.

If you dig Funny Book Splatter, your best bet to ensure you receive each and every episode is to subscribe via one of the links below.

Lastly, if you're a horror comics creator, I want to hear from you!  Whether you're a first time writer launching a Kickstarter campaign or an established artist who has been working in the industry for years, you'd be a welcome guest on the show.  Reach out to me via email or on Twitter.
