Funny Book Splatter 031: Russell Hillman

This week my guest is Russell Hillman, the writer of Slashermania from Freaktown Comics.  It’s safe to say this graphic novel is a love letter to slasher movies.  It’s sort of like Friday the 13th meets the Hunger Games.  Russell shares some of his favorite slasher movies, including mainstream and more obscure titles.  I was frantically writing them down as he pointed out some real gems that I’ll have to check out.

Slashermania was successfully funded on Kickstarter -- and yes, I backed the campaign -- and is now available through ComiXology and FreaktownComics.BigCartel.com.

Rusell can be found online on Twitter at @AllHellIsMrSun and Freaktown Comics can be found on Twitter at @FreaktownComics.

In other news, if you’re going to be at New York Comic Con this October, please let me know!  I’ll be covering the show for HorrorTalk and Comicon.com and I’d love to say hello.  I’m starting to put together my schedule now even though the convention is a month away.

Lastly, if you're a horror comics creator, I want to hear from you!  Whether you're a first time writer launching a Kickstarter campaign or an established artist who has been working in the industry for years, you'd be a welcome guest on the show.  Reach out to me via email or on Twitter.
