WILD'S END GOES FROM ALIENS TO BODY SNATCHERS

What would be your first thought if I told you about a group of anthropomorphic animals starring in a cross between Wind in the Willows and War of the Worlds?  It might sound a little strange, but I assure you, it's quite awesome.  That was the case with Wild's End, the series from creators Dan Abnett and I.N.J. Culbard published by BOOM! Studios.  The duo is returning to the sleepy village of Lower Crowchurch this September with a sequel series entitled Wild's End: The Enemy Within, drawing a big influence from Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

“I think Dan and Ian surprised a lot of readers last year with the first Wild’s End series,” said BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon. “They created these wonderful characters that we connected with so quickly, and they ended the story on such a frightening note we had to know what happened next! I can’t recommend this series enough. Pick up the first trade and jump on board The Enemy Within as soon as possible!”

Wild's End: The Enemy Within picks up shortly after the events of the first storyline.  Clive, Susan, Fawkes, and the other survivors of the alien invasion are trying to come to grips with what just happened in their small town.  They've lost friends and relatives, not to mention tons of property damage.  The military shows up in an attempt to cover up the “incident,” immediately detaining town residents for questioning and treated everyone with suspicion.  Could they be alien spies, collaborators, or sympathizers?  Clive and the others must escape imprisonment if they're to get the word out and warn the rest of the world before the aliens return.

Wild's End: The Enemy Within is a six issue mini-series.  The first issue arrives on September 23rd, a week before the first Wild's End trade paperback debuts (wouldn't it have made sense to reverse those dates?)  Anyway, the book will feature a main cover by Culbard for $3.99, plus limited quantities of a Jackpot incentive cover by Jake Wyatt, a 10 years incentive cover by Rob Guillory, and a retailer incentive coer by Jeff Lemire.  The book is available for pre-order using the order code JUL151079 with a final order cutoff deadline for retailers of August 31st.
