If you're like me, you probably thought "Man, I love spending eight hours playing a rousing game of Monopoly, but you know what would make this better?  Zombies."  Fortunately, USAopoly and Diamond Comic Distributors have you covered with the upcoming board game Monopoly: The Walking Dead Survival Edition.  A special edition of Risk, the game of world domination will be available as well.

Instead of buying up places like Boardwalk and Baltic Avenue, players will vie for, and then fortify prime real estate and resources to survive against the hordes of the undead.  Only one person will outlast the others.  If it's anything like regular Monopoly games, it's whomever is still awake.  The Walking Dead Survival Edition version of the game will include six collectible tokens and an optional speed mode.

Speaking of games that I love but take forever to play, the Walking Dead Survival Edition of Risk will feature a brand new map set in the southeast region of the United States in which players can battle and scavenge for supplies.  Not only will gamers fend off attacks from rival players, but they must defend their limited resources from the zombies roaming around the land.  A new deck of "Supply Cards" will add some additional strategy to the game.  USAopoly promised a "fast-paced game of attrition and survival" but I've played Risk several times and "fast-paced" is not a word I would use to describe it.

“We’re extremely excited to be working with USAopoly and Robert Kirkman’s Skybound imprint at Image Comics in what promises to be two great games that are destined to be bestsellers for retailers,” said Bill Schanes, Diamond’s VP-Purchasing.

What do you think of The Walking Dead invading these board games? What other games should get zombified?
