After it makes its U.S. premiere at the 2013 SXSW Midnighters Section in March, The Lords of Salem, Rob Zombie's latest upcoming horror film, opens in cities across the country on April 19th, 2013.

From the singular mind of horror maestro Rob Zombie comes a chilling plunge into a nightmare world where evil runs in the blood. The Lords of Salem tells the tale of Heidi (Sheri Moon Zombie), a radio station DJ living in Salem, Massachusetts, who receives a strange wooden box containing a record, a "gift from the Lords." Heidi listens, and the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of the town's violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the "Lords of Salem" returning for revenge on modern-day Salem?

I have to admit, I have a lot of hope for this. While I am meh on Zombie's Halloween attempts, I dug (most of) House of 1,000 Corpses and absolutely loved The Devil's Rejects. This looks to be something totally original and the more I hear about it, the more I want to see it. It doesn't hurt that I'm about 75% done with The Lords of Salem book (written by Rob Zombie and thoroughly enjoying it.

Hurry up, April!

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
