THIS DAMNED BAND PUTS KISS TO SHAME
Years ago, people got all up in arms about KISS, thinking the band’s name stood for Knights In Satan’s Service. Sure, they had elaborate face paint and Gene Simmons was nick-named “The Demon,” but they weren’t really down with the devil. What if the act turned out to be real…by accident? That’s sort of the premise behind This Damned Band, a new comic from writer Paul Cornell and artist Tony Parker, set to debut in August from Dark Horse Comics.
Set in 1974, the world’s most famous rock band thought they were worshipping Satan in a figurative sense only to find out that they were literally worshipping Satan. The mini-series is presented in a documentary-style, like This is Spinal Tap meets Ghostbusters, mixing black magic, classic rock, and legendary musicians.
This Damned Band #1 arrives on August 5th, 2015.
