Activision and Terminal Reality have released the first gameplay footage for their upcoming title, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.  Timed perfectly to coincide with the show's return to television, the new trailer provides a glimpse into how fans can play as Merle and Daryl Dixon.

That's not all though.  Fans that pre-order the game through GameStop or Amazon will be rewarded with special exclusive downloadable content.  If you go through GameStop, you'll receive the Herd Mode Challenge where you'll deal with endless waves of walkers, each more difficult than the last in an arcade style battle of death.  Meanwhile, Amazon will offer the Walker Execution Pack, providing the player with five unique weapons including a survival knife, sawtoothed machete, kukri, reinforced hatchet, and advanced machete.  As The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a game where ammo is scarce and stealth can mean living another day, blades may be your best friend.

I am so excited to check out The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.  I have not been impressed with the game from TellTale Games as I was bored by the lack of gameplay.  Judging from this trailer alone, Survival Instinct is already way more exciting.  Plus, you get to play as the incredibly awesome Dixon brothers voiced by Michael Rooker and Norman Reedus!

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will be released in North America on March 19th on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC and on March 26th on the Wii U.

What do you think of the new gameplay trailer?  Will you be pre-ordering the game through GameStop or Amazon?
