THE OCCULTIST GETS AN OMNIBUS IN APRIL
There are so many lost gems in comics and every so often one is bubbled up again for all of us to enjoy. Such is the case with The Occultist, an awesome book that unfortunately only ran for two five-issue mini-series. This April, Dark Horse Comics is collecting all ten issues into a new omnibus and I'm super excited about it. The Occultist is like Dr. Strange if he was Peter Parker. How's that for a hook? Created by Mike Richardson, the comic was written by Tim Seeley and featured artwork by Victor Drujiniu, Mike Norton, and Jason Gorder and colors by Andrew Dalhouse and Allan Passalaqua. It's a nice blend of horror, humor, and heroes.
The Occultist Omnibus collects The Occultist #1-5 and The Occultist: At Death's Door #1-5. It centers on Rob Bailey, a college student who stumbles upon a magical book that gives him supernatural powers. While the new abilities are great, the dangerous problems that come with them are less so. A gang of hitman mages are sent to steal the book by a sorcerer so Rob has to quickly learn to use hiew new powers as his life depends on it.
The Occultist Omnibus is set for release on April 25th, 2018 and is currently available for pre-order. It clocks in at a whopping 256 pages and will retail for $24.99.
