After the huge Artifacts event, the Top Cow Universe was literally changed.  This wasn't some lame new status quo that was just like the old status quo whenever one of the Big Two has a big comic crossover.  Jackie Estacado, bearer of the Darkness, literally changed reality.  He brought his lost love, Jenny back to life and made her the mother of his daughter, Hope (replacing the Witchblade bearer, Sara Pezzini), among other changes.  This was possibly the one good thing that Jackie has ever tried to do.  Unfortunately, he used the Darkness to do it and there are some bold consequences as a result.  David Hine and Stjepan Sejic are putting an end to Jackie in the upcoming graphic novel, The Darkness: The Death of Jackie Estacado.  Doens't get more specific than that, huh?

As if artifacts like the Darkness weren't bad enough, Jackie's actions opened the door for older, more evil creatures to enter our world.  With every breath that Jackie takes, these monsters gain more strength.  In order for everyone else to live, Jackie must die and Sara is set to be his executioner.

I started reading The Darkness just before Top Cow Rebirth began and completely changed everything.  Since this is a comic book, I had my doubts about how long that the creators could keep this altered reality going.  Surprisingly, they've been doing it for some time and have made some fantastic stories. It's been an incredible ride so far with some intensely creepy plot lines from David Hine.  Stjepan Sejic is a phenomenal artist and has been knocking it out of the park on Artifacts.  I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with The Darkness.

The Darkness: The Death of Jackie Estacado, a 128 page graphic novel, will be available on Deecember 11th and will retail for $9.99.
