SEXY SCARY STUPID - THE CULT ART OF ILAN SHEADY

He is, as his alias describes him, a Hairy Bastard, full of life and a source of seemingly unlimited talent. Ilan Sheady, the man responsible for most of HorrorTalk's graphics and once presenter of HorrorTalk TV, is about to launch a solo exhibition of his artwork in his hometown of Liverpool. He's designed posters for Grimmfest, horror-themed greetings cards and movie posters and DVD covers in his time, but not content with just creating killer art he also organises the Liverpool Horror Festival alongside his horror-focused design agency Uncle Frank Productions. Check out the official info below, and if you're in the area do not miss the chance to go along to the free exhibition.

After more than 5 years working within the horror genre, Liverpool artist Ilan Sheady, creative director of Uncle Frank Productions and founder of the Liverpool Horror Festival is proudly presenting his work to the public in an exhibition to accompany the launch of his new book of the same name SEXY SCARY STUPID.

The exhibition includes work from Liverpool Horrorfest like Clive Barker’s Hellraiser poster (described by Clive Barker himself as one of the very best representations), Manchester’s Grimmfest, and a whole host of film and promotional projects.

Also for the first time ever, Ilan Sheady publicly discusses doing the controversial work that caused Green Party associate Stephen Delahunty to lose his job. The work, created under the alias of Hairy Bastard, illustrated shocking poetry by Liverpool poet Janine Grafflin and a selection will finally be on public display.

The book SEXY SCARY STUPID will be available at amazon from the 29th October and a limited number of signed copies will be available at the event.

The free exhibition is at ROAD Studios, 69 Victoria street, L1 6DN from 29th Oct to 11th Nov 7:00pm to 10:00pm and is not recommended for children. Obviously.
