RESIDENT EVIL: REVELATIONS SHAMBLING ONTO PLAYSTATION 4 AND XBOX ONE
Developed by Capcom
Game first released on January 26, 2012
Platforms: 3DS | PlayStation 4 | Xbox One
Capcom is on a roll. Not only was Resident Evil 7 a critical and commercial success, which you can read more about in my review, but now Resident Evil: Revelations is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Autumn 2017.
You might have missed Revelations when it was first released on the 3DS in 2012, but the game seemed to mark Capcom's gradual return to its classic horror roots. Ammo was more limited, creatures were suitably twisted, and exploring a dank, silent cruise ship sailed along with more tension than any Resident Evil game in a while. Needless to say, the game saw a positive reception from most critics.
The game also brought in a host of beloved characters such as Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, along with a few newbies, and threw them into a narrative somewhere between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 that was actually interesting. Chris and his partner, Jessica Sherawat - the one with all the hair - were exploring the Queen Zenobia, a cruise ship abandoned in the Mediterranean Sea. Then they went missing, and the game spans across Jill's journey to find them and slices in more action-heavy scenes with Chris' mysterious whereabouts.
Resident Evil: Revelations is coming to this PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Autumn of this year, though no specific price of date has yet been announced. Then, if you haven't played it already, you can treat yourself to the equally well-made, episodic Resident Evil: Revelations 2.
