PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE GETS APTLY TITLED SEQUEL
It's common knowledge that Ed Wood's Plan 9 from Outer Space is the worst film ever made. It's been widely ridiculed for ages, yet it has a bizarre cult following. This is why it's such a surprise that after 50+ years, it's getting a sequel. Indie creators James Mascia and Michael Dolce have launched the aptly titled Plan 10 from Outer Space as a graphic novel via Kickstarter.
Plan 10 from Outer Space picks up in the small town of Carmel-By-The-Sea in California, reimagining the original film for the modern age. This time around, our heroes are familiar with ghouls, vampires, and zombies so they quickly dispatch the so-called threat. The aliens have to go to plan b....errr...10. That involves enslaving humanity through a mobile app called Sentient and destroying them one cell phone at a time. See, if the aliens really wanted to succeed, they'd just put some Pokemon in the app.
“When James approached me with the idea of a sequel to Plan 9, it immediately got the juices flowing,” creator and radio host Michael Dolce said. “When coming up with Plan 10 we kept coming back to our society’s dependence on cell phones and technology and the story took off from there.”
Plan 10 from Outer Space is a 64 page graphic novel featuring artwork from Osiris Junior, Soussherpa, and Tony Moy. The creators are looking to raise $7,500, the bulk of which will go to the artists. At the time of this writing, there are 12 days left and they're 13% to their goal.
