Perception is almost here...
Studio: Deep End Games
Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Release: 30 May 2017
Perception is a first-person horror developed by Deep End Games, a team of AAA veterans who previously worked on the BioShock series at Irrational Games. It features a blind woman called Cassie Thornton, armed with nothing but her walking stick and smartphone, as she explores Echo Bluff Manor in Massachusetts. Something else is there with her. “The presence”. It'll be waiting for Cassie when the game is released on May 30th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Cassie sees the world around her using the technique of echolocation. When she, or something else, makes noise, it bounces off the edges of her surroundings and back to her, creating an outline of the environment. Based on the latest trailer embedded above, you can expect to be working out the layout of the mansion pretty quickly at times, looking for new places to run to, and especially new places to hide. The presence may be able to take many different forms, and they're all likely to be hunting you down.
Perception will be released in just a few days, and many gamers are likely already tapping their walking sticks impatiently to get their first glimpse of this veteran-developed title. I'm certainly one of them. Will you be picking this game up when it's released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC?
