Kids get everything these days, and now they even have their own zombie film. ParaNorman is an animated kids' adventure story from the creative minds of Sam Fell and Chris Butler, from Butler’s original screenplay. Fell was director of The Tale of Despereaux and Flushed Away, while Butler was storyboard supervisor on Coraline and storyboard artist on Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride.
In ParaNorman, a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee, better known as Owen from Let Me In), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst of all, moronic grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits. Following LAIKA’s groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated animated feature Coraline, ParaNorman is only the second stop-motion animated feature to be made in 3D.
ParaNorman is released in UK cinemas 14th September 2012
