While they may still be casting for the film adaptation of Brian Keene's Dark Hollow, a new, slick poster has been released to the fans (above).

When local women in a rural Pennsylvanian town start disappearing, writer Adam Shay and his neighbours discover an unholy evil dwelling deep in the forest: a satyr - a supernatural half-man, half goat creature, hellbent on protecting itself and spreading it's seed.

I'm really excited for Dark Hollow because I immensely enjoyed the book (originally titled as The Rutting Season). A lot of Keene's work is begging for film adaptations, and even though I think the TV movie Ghoul (based on Keene's novel of the same name) left a lot to be desired, I have faith in this one. From what I've been reading, Keene appears to be more hands-on with Dark Hollow than with Ghoul. In addition, director and co-screenwriter Paul Campion impressed Charlotte with his debut The Devil's Rock.

The Dark Hollow screenplay was co-written by Paul Finch. No word on who stars yet, nor a release date, but keep an eye out here and we'll keep you posted.

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
