Naprata Poster

Found footage is currently one of the more popular genres in horror films, and now Serbia is in the game. Naprata, one of the first films of its type in Serbia, is making some waves.

Inspired by an infamous online video clip of a son beating his mother, a television crew from Belgrade comes to a remote Serbian village to shoot a report on violence against women. Inquiring with the locals about the protagonists of the video, they encounter a local expert on supernatural phenomena and learn about a ritual of summoning an ancient demon, naprata. Wanting to capture the first authentic footage of something otherwordly, they change their plans.

Excited by the prospective success of the recording, they defy the old saying that "it's better to believe than to be convinced."

As a fan of the found footage genre, I'm very curious about this one. The trailer below doesn't give away much of anything, but I'm liking that image of evil on the poster.

Let's hope it creeps its way to my neck of the woods.

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
