More Silent Hill Comics on the Way
I'm continually reminded that there are only so many hours in a day for me to consume pop culture. Try as I might, I just don't have enough time to read comics, watch movies and TV shows, play video games, and have some semblance of a life. There is a lot of content out there that I just haven't gotten around to checking out yet. One example of this is Silent Hill. I've never played any of the games so I don't know much about it, but I'm aiming to fix that with the upcoming comic from IDW Publishing and Konami Digital Entertainment, entitled Silent Hill Downpour: Anne's Story.
This new series centers on prison guard Anne Marie Cunningham, the antagonist of 2012's Silent Hill Downpour. Her background will be explored for the first time as it was only hinted at during the game. Plus, you'll get some more history on the fog-shrouded haunted town caught between realities. (Do you think they put that on post cards?)
Tom Waltz, who wrote the previous two Silent Hill comics and co-wrote Downpour, returns to write Anne's Story. Joining him for interior art and covers is Tristan Jones.
“This will be my fourth foray as a writer into the dark side streets and alleyways of everyone’s favorite haunted vacation town and I couldn’t be more excited,” said Waltz. “More so because we finally get to share Anne Marie Cunningham’s canonical backstory, a mystery only hinted at until now. In our new story we can finally present all her grim and dirty secrets to Silent Hill fans, old and new alike.”
The first issue of Silent Hill Downpour: Anne's Story is set to debut in August.
