Monster Motors The Curse Of Minivan Helsing 00

Sometimes you read a comic and you just want it to keep going forever because it's so damn good. That was how I felt when I read Monster Motors, a one-shot from Brian Lynch, Nick Roche, and Leonard O'Grady. It was a fun all-ages book about genius mechanic Vic Frankenstein who moves to the small town of Transylvania, Kentucky and does battle with a vampire car named Cadillacula. Unfortunately, it was just a one-shot, not an ongoing series so that was all we had to enjoy at the time...until now.

IDW Publishing has announced that Monster Motors is returning with a two part follow-up to the one-shot in February entitled Monster Motors: The Curse of Minivan Helsing. Vic Frankenstein is back with his trusty assistant iGOR (interactive Garage Operations Robot). The town has been overrun by Monster Motors. Vampire cars suck gas from their victims. Lunar-powered werewolf vehicles grow fangs and claws when the moon is full. That's just the beginning.

Someone has to keep all these crazy cars in check. That's a job for the four-wheeled monster-hunter Minivan Helsing and he's very good at it. His next target is Vic and his Frankenride, a monstrous truck he made from the parts of fallen vehicles.

"Monster Motors is a world I love coming back to," said Lynch. "Combining everyone's favorite monsters (and, with this story, monster hunters) with the coolest vehicles originally made me say 'wow, if I were a kid I'd love to see this'. But as the world gets fleshed out and we start figuring out each Monster Motors' personality, I realized this was a story anyone can enjoy, no matter their age. It's got tons of action, it's funny, it's scary, and thanks to Nick and Len, it's the best looking book you'll read all month."

I cannot wait for this book. No specific release date has been revealed yet, but the first chapter of Monster Motors: The Curse of Minivan Helsing is due out in February 2015.
