Michonne Statue CoverFans of the katana-wielding Michonne from The Walking Dead will soon have something else to be thankful for.  First the character became a series regular on the AMC TV show and now McFarlane Toys has announced a limited edition statue of Michonne doing what she does best: Kicking zombie ass.

The hand painted resin statue is approximately 14.5 inches tall and comes with a 360 degree rotating base, allowing you to view the action from every angle.  If you want to get your hands on one of these, you better act fast.  There will be no more than 1,500 of these bad boys created.  Each will be sequentially numbered and hand-signed by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.  They'll also include a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Todd McFarlane.

“Obviously, the sculpting team at McFarlane really outdid themselves. I think this is a really remarkable piece of art,” says Kirkman. “Michonne is a very cool character – she’s definitely the most action-oriented character from the series, and I really liked the idea of letting the McFarlane team run wild, and do their own take on Michonne.”

The Michonne statue is planned to ship in 3rd Quarter 2013, but you can pre-order yours today exclusively through the McFarlane Toys Online Store.  It'll set you back $295 but you get free shipping so that helps a little bit.  Pre-ordering starts at 12 PM EST on Monday, February 11th, 2013.  You won't be charged until the item ships so you have some time to sock the money away before the statue makes its way over to you.

Will you be picking up one of the Michonne statues?  What other Walking Dead characters would you like to see get this kind of treatment?
