Titan Comics has announced the launch of a new creator owned series called It Came!.  The four issue mini-series is a sci-fi comedy in the vein of cheesy 1950's B-movies you'd expect to show up on Mystery Science Theater 3000.  The comic is written and illustrated by Dan Boultwood.

It Came! is set in the 1950s British countryside where misogynistic space scientist, Dr. Boy Brett and the chaperoned Doris Night stop by a local pub for a cheese ploughman's.  Afterwards, they encounter Grurk, an indestructible robot from outer space on a mission to harvest the British Blitz spirit for energy.  Now it's up to Boy and Doris to save England.

It Came! can be summed up by calling it a 1950s comedy B-Movie pastiche from a studio that never was." says creator Dan Boultwood. "Which, coincidentally, is also how I sum up my everyday life, but with less giant space robots. Only a little less, mind you.”

The first issue of It Came! will hit comic shops and your favorite digital device on August 7th, 2013.

I'd be lying if I said I understood half of what this comic is about.  I'll have to ask our UK counterparts to translate the synopsis for me.  Giant robots are OK with me so I'll be checking this out.  I'm not too sure on the name though.  It Came! sounds like something that would be yelled at a monster key party.

What do you think of It Came!?  What do you think the robot will do after it comes?  Smoke a cigarette or just roll over and go to sleep?  Will it call the next day?
