Invaders From Mars Poster

Master of Horror Tobe Hooper, director of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Lifeforce is back with his unique spin on the 1950s sci-fi classic Invaders From Mars. This funky 1986 remake debuts on Blu-ray courtesy of Scream Factory on April 7, 2015 in a brand new special edition loaded with bonus features.

Hooper has assembled a B-movie lover's all-star cast including such favorites as Karen Black (Trilogy of Terror), James Karen (Poltergeist), Louise Fletcher (Exorcist II The Heretic), Hunter Carson (Paris, Texas), Bud Cort (Harold & Maude) and Timothy Bottoms (The Last Picture Show) and thrown them into a truly bizarre monster movie featuring creature designs by Stan Winston (Pumpkinhead) and visual effects from the legendary John Dykstra (Lifeforce). The film opened to less than stellar box office and while critics at the time were unkind, Invaders from Mars found new life on home video and late night cable TV broadcasts.

From the press release:

Little David Gardner's starry-eyed dreams turn into an out-of-this-world nightmare when invaders from the red planet land in his backyard and unleash their hostilities on unsuspecting earthlings! Paralyzed with fear as the aliens take over the minds of his mother, father and even his classmates, David must somehow find a way to stop them- before they turn the whole human race into brain-dead zombies!
