I do not envy the life of an exterminator. It can't be an easy job. It's definitely not a fun one. Scottie and Howie have things particularly rough. They're animal control specialists but they don't handle raccoons and other woodland creatures. They tackle supernatural beings like werewolves. All in a day's work, huh?
Back in 2011, IDW Publishing released The Pound: Horror Business, a graphic novel starring these two specialists in Cleveland who were laid off by the city and go into business for themselves. Now, creators Stephan Nilson and Charles Pretchett have teamed up with artist Ibrahim Moustafa to check in on Scottie and Howie in The Pound: Ghouls Night Out. Scottie and Howie's business is booming, but the government is looking over their shoulder and there is an endless stream of new creatures to deal with, not to mention visiting in-laws.
“It’s great to be back with IDW to publish The Pound. We’re all excited for this next series. While Horror Business was our origin story, Ghouls Night Out gives us the opportunity to really dive into the Scottie and Howie’s world as they adjust their lives to living and dealing with monsters, and I think the readers are really going to enjoy Ibrahim’s illustration style,” said Nilson. “He’s done a great job capturing the action and humor of the story.”
The first issue of four part mini-series, The Pound: Ghouls Night Out is scheduled for release in September 2012. It's a 32 page full color comic that will set you back $3.99.
What do you think of this sequel to The Pound? What would you like to see Scottie and Howie take on this time around?
