I bought a house a couple years ago and as my wife and I started cleaning the place up, I had a secret hope that we'd find treasure or money hidden in the walls or storage spaces. Unfortunately, the only things we found were an old bowling ball and a ski pole. At least the place wasn't haunted. That's the problem in Hell Baby, the new horror comedy written by the minds behind Reno 911!, Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant.
Here's the full synopsis from Millennium Entertainment:
Jack (Rob Corddry) and Vanessa (Leslie Bibb) are an expectant couple that moves into the most haunted fixer-upper in New Orleans -- a house with a deadly demonic curse. Things soon spiral out of control for Jack and Vanessa, as well as their-not-so-helpful neighbor F'Resnel (Keegan-Michael Key), Vanessa's friendly psychiatrist (Michael Ian Black), Vanessa's Wiccan sister Marjorie (Riki Lindhome) and the detectives assigned to look into the rising body count (Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer). Only the Vatican's elite exorcism team (Garant and Lennon) san save them -- or can they?
There are so many hilarious actors in this film that I'm definitely interested on paper. How does the trailer look though? Is this a Scary Movie version of Rosemary's Baby? Check it out below:
I'm not sure what to think of this. I loved Reno 911! and almost everything that Thomas Lennon has been in, but this feels like a lame parody on the surface. I'm hoping that the trailer is just not doing the film justice. What do you think?
Hell Baby will be available on Ultra VOD on July 25th and in theaters and Premium VOD on September 6th.
