Grimmfest 2012 Banner

Any true horror fan looks forward to October like it's Christmas.
Besides the obvious Halloween festivities, October promises some of the
most commercially entertaining horror films of the year. It's become a
tradition for there to be a Paranormal Activity, Saw, Final
Destination or a classic remake "NOW IN 3D" and if your only option
is a local Odeon, Vue or Cineworld the you may be limited to those commercial choices. But
anybody who plans on going to this year’s Grimmfest is going to be in
for one Hell of a treat.

Grimm has definitely earned its reputation of discovering and
showcasing some of the best and most noteworthy horrors from around
the world by introducing the North West to instant cult hits like
Lucky McKee's The Woman, Jack Perez's Some Guy Who Kills People and
The Soska Twins' Dead Hooker in a Trunk and this October they are
going to raise their status to another level with their amazing lineup
for Grimmfest 2012.

Fans of Classic horrors will finally get the chance to see Clive Barker's fabled Nightbreed Cabal Cut and quiz Midian's monsters Simon "Butterball" Bamford, Nicholas "Chatterer" Vince and Hugh "it's a test" Ross, as well as Russ Cherington the restoration supervisor. Alternatively you can lean back and live the dream of seeing Basket Case in all its gory glory on the cinema screen.

If new horror is more your thing then there's a breathtaking selection of films like Attack of the Werewolves, Before Dawn and the old skool Ross Noble horror Stitches. All of these films are followed by Q&A sessions, each of which is a headlining event in itself but there are many other titles and celebrity appearances to satisfy any twisted bloodlust.

The guest list is incredible (which includes the beautiful Pollyanna 'The Woman' McIntosh), the films are guaranteed to entertain (including The Soska Twins' highly praised American Mary) and from my experience with Grimm's regular events (Grimm Up North) I know that the atmosphere is going to be fantastic.

With Frightfest behind us Grimmfest 2012 is going to be the must see experience of the year for any REAL horror fans. You know who you are.

Check out Grimmfest’s website to see the lineup for the weekend and get tickets now before it's too late.
