GREEN RIVER KILLER HITS PAPERBACK
There's a reason that there are so many crime procedurals on television right now. Everyone loves a good mystery, especially if you can solve it in 44 minutes or less. After the pop culture phenomenon that was True Detective on HBO last year, it's no wonder that Dark Horse Comics is bringing back Green River Killer: A True Detective Story, although there's no relation to the TV show. This time around, the book will be available in paperback for the first time.
Green River Killer takes place over the course of years, beginning in the 1980s when the apprehension of the title character was the highest priority among Seattle-area police. The man was responsible for the murders of dozens of women. Detective Tom Jensen took over the case in 1990 when the body count numbered at least 48. After 20 years, the killer was finally captured with the help of DNA technology. Jensen spent 180 days interviewing Gary Leon Ridgway in an effort to learn his most closely held secrets and confront this evil head on.
The graphic novel is written by Jensen's own son, Jeff Jensen and features artwork from Jonathan Case. It is a harrowing true crime story that was one of my top picks of 2011. It pulls you in, fully engrossing you within this case.
