FRIGHT NIGHT CLUB WILL IMMERSE FANS IN HORROR THIS HALLOWEEN
The UK scrae industry soldiers on, becoming more and more like our cousins across the pond in the USA. While they get Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, we're not doing too bad on these shores either, with a plethora of Halloween scare events running the length and breadth of the country. One such event that will scare up a storm in Bermondsey's Biscuit Factory is Fright Night Club, the brainchild of Human Centipede II SFX artist Dan Martin and horror film producer Jen Handorf (Prevenge, The Borderlands, The Devil’s Business).
But don't expect your normal 'haunted' house experience, where you're nose-to-back with the person in front and shuffling through with limited opportunity to bask in the terror around you. Fright Night Club is aiming for a fully immersive event that has been specifically designed, using Jen Handorf's experience with human psychology, to get right under your skin and into the furthest corners of your mind. There's also a unique way to get discounted tickets via a crowdfunding campaign. As an event that is certain to sell out once word of mouth starts to spread, you can secure your discounted entry and give the organisers the opportunity to have full creative control of the event. Read on for all the official info.

WHAT IS FRIGHT NIGHT CLUB?
This October is the inaugural chapter of FRIGHT NIGHT CLUB, an immersive horror experience from the minds of special effects artist Daniel Martin (Utopia, Human Centipede 2, High Rise) and producer Jen Handorf (Prevenge, The Borderlands,
Devil’s Business). Dan and Jen had dreamed of hosting a scare event for years, but they wanted to do something that would really get under their audience’s skinsomething more spectacular than the old British standard of a traveling ghost train.
FRIGHT NIGHT CLUB offers just that- an invitation to be unnerved. When you enter the Club, you will find yourself immersed in a fully explorable world littered with dark secrets. Once the show begins, you will have to find your way along a twisted, adrenaline fuelled path through the Club’s hidden depths. If you survive to the end, you may find yourself in need of a drink to settle your nerves. Fear not- like any good world this one comes with a bar for you to relax and reflect on what you’ve just seen.
WHAT IS THE EXPERIENCE?
The visitors will be fully immersed in a labyrinthine world of our devising, replete with creepy characters, terrifying events and a crushing feeling of impending doom. It’s mixture of immersive theatre and a classic haunted house, and it’s the
experiential elements of both that we are really focusing on. There is a journey that every guest will go through, but there is a great deal more to explore depending on how deeply they engage with the space. From the soundtrack to the smell of each room, we have carefully architected the Club to tap into the audience’s senses. It is a satisfyingly intense experience on the surface, but the audience members who delve in and bravely face their fears will get a deeper effect.
WHO IS FRIGHT NIGHT CLUB FOR?
We think events like this are a great opportunity for newcomers and old hands alike to experience something fresh and different. It will be novel and horrific enough for scare aficionados to feel stimulated, but there is nothing to limit the enjoyment for someone new to the scene. All that is required to have a good time are nerves of steel and a willingness to step beyond...
HOW IS KICKSTARTER BEING USED IN RELATION TO THIS EVENT?
The Kickstarter is designed to build the audience and give fans the opportunity to get discounted tickets early. Additionally, if we meet our Kickstarter goal, then Dan and Jen will be able to have full ownership and creative control of the project. If the Kickstarter isn’t successful, we are lucky enough to have an investor who will complete our financing, so the show will go on regardless. The difference is that tickets will only be available at full price and Dan and Jen will share ownership with the investor.
Reward tiers include:
• Discounted tickets
• Effects and production consultations
• Effects and management classes
• life casts, custom art and more!
It’s as close as we could get to an ‘if you build, it they will come’ business model and hopefully the audience will want to be a part of the Club as much as we think they will!
