EVERY GHOSTBUSTER MEETS IN NEW EVENT SERIES THIS MARCH
Since the Ghostbusters developed an interdimensional portal, they've met alternate versions of themselves (The Real Ghostbusters from the 1980's cartoon), alternate teams (the group from the 2016 Ghostbusters movie), and even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This March, every Ghostbuster across the multiverse will be called upon to help as the Containment Unit is opened and all the ghosts are released. Get ready for an epic event with Ghostbusters: Crossing Over from IDW Publishing.
This eight-issue mini-series event is helmed by the same stellar creative team that's been steering the Ghostbusters ship for some time at IDW. Writer Erik Burnham, artist Dan Schoening, and colorist Luis Antonio Delgado return for the ultimate team-up story. The original Ghostbusters use the portal to further their research of the paranormal and consult with other teams, but they must call upon their interdimensional allies for help once the portal unleashes all of the ghosts within their Containment Unit.

“This story has something for everyone who has ever loved an iteration of the Ghostbusters,” said series writer Burnham. “The Prime team from the original movies? There. The Real Ghostbusters? Present. The Extreme team? Accounted for. Not to mention the characters from the video games, the 2016 movie, and the originals we've created for the comics! If you don't like one character, don't worry, we have others! BUNCHES of others.”
“The biggest challenges from an artistic perspective is emulating the styles of the Real Ghostbusters, Extreme Ghostbusters, Sanctum of Slime and any other teams that may pop up,” said series artist Schoening. “Not only do we want to honor the distinct look of the characters, but also the backgrounds and ghouls. Luckily and gratefully, we have already had a chance to play with many of those characters in previous books.”
I really love what IDW Publishing has been doing with the Ghostbusters franchise. The past few years has seen it expand greatly by delving into all the other versions of the characters. Ghostbusters: Crossing Over #1 is set to debut in March 2018. It will feature covers by Joe Quinones, Dan Schoening, and Tim Lattie.
