DAY MEN: VOLUME 1 COMING IN NOVEMBER

BOOM! Studios has been packaging some of its new hit titles in trade paperbacks that serve as great jumping-on points. This has been done recently with The Woods and Dead Letters and now it'll be done again for Day Men. The first volume will be released in November, collecting the first four issues of the series written by Matt Gagnon and Michael Alan Nelson and illustrated by Brian Stelfreeze.

Day Men is set in a world controlled by 50 "families of vampires, sort of like the mafia. These creatures are super powerful, but they still burn up when the sun rises. They employ humans to take care of their affairs during the day (hence the title of the book). The comic follows one particular Day Man as he gets wrapped up in a war between rival vampire families.

"November 5th is a big day for Day Men," said BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief and the creator and co-writer of Day Men, Matt Gagnon. "We were able to pull off what I was hoping for: a same-day release of the volume one trade and issue #5, which is the start of our new arc 'Ex Curia.' We wanted to give all of our awesome retailers and readers an easy access point to the series. We're pricing the trade at $9.99, so anybody can get caught up on the entire story thus far for 14 bucks. Our beloved 'vampire noir' series is back in a big way next month, and we can't wait to share it with you!"

Day Men has been a stellar read so far. It's no wonder that the book has been optioned by Universal Studios to adapt into a feature film. The fact that both the first trade and the next issue come out on the same day serve as a great incentive to dive right into this series.

Day Men: Volume 1 will be released on November 5th, 2014.
