Not content with the amount of abbreviated titles in their library, Dark Horse Comics has announced the upcoming S.H.O.O.T. First from Justin Aclin and Nicholas Daniel Selma arriving this October. Joining the ranks of the B.P.R.D. and the R.I.P.D., S.H.O.O.T. First follows the Secular Humanist Occult Obliteration Taskforce as they user the power of their own disbelief (and sci-fi weapons) to protect the world from supernatural creatures. No being is safe, be it angel, demon, or something in between.
"S.H.O.O.T. First is the most personal story and the most epic story I've ever written. It's about how we deal with the loss of faith, plus it's got crazy sci-fi action and a robot arm-wrestling a demon,” says writer Justin Aclin.
“If you are into angels and demons, weird looking creatures or just big guns, S.H.O.O.T First will totally blow your heads off," adds artist Nicolas Selma.
I'm not sure I understand the premise of S.H.O.O.T. First just yet. If I'm reading this correctly, it's about atheists ridding the world of demons and angels? I guess I'll find out when the first issue hits on October 16th.
What do you think of S.H.O.O.T. First? Will it be too controversial for the funny book world? I can tell you already that the title is annoying to type, but I'm not holding that against the comic.
