BEASTS OF BURDEN RETURNS IN MAY

If you're ever curious as to what's a good comic for someone interested in checking out the medium, look no further than Beasts of Burden.  The book, created by writer Evan Dorkin and artist Jill Thompson, follows a group of pets in the town of Burden Hill as they get into a variety of supernatural adventures.  I'm not doing the book justice with that description.  It's a great read that's beautifully illustrated and it has the perfect mix of horror and heart.  If you've ever owned a pet, you'll love it.  With all that said, you can imagine my excitement when I heard Dark Horse Comics will be publishing a new Beasts of Burden one-shot this May entitled What the Cat Dragged In.  Dorkin and Thompson return, along with Sarah Dyer.

This standalone adventure serves as a perfect entry point to new readers, although as I mentioned above, you should read the rest of the series regardless.  It picks up in Burden Hill as curiousity gets the best of the local cats (and one reluctant raccoon) and sleeping demons are awakened and black magic is unleashed.

Beasts of Burden: What the Cat Dragged In is set for release on May 4th, 2016.  You can – and should – pre-order it through your local comic shop.
