ATHENA VOLTAIRE RETURNS IN PULP TALES THIS NOVEMBER

There's something so cool about pulp comics that is making a re-emergence lately with books like The Black Beetle and old school characters like Doc Savage and The Shadow. Steve Bryant's Athena Voltaire certainly belongs in that camp and the character is starring in an impressive collection of pulp style comics set to debut in November from Action Lab Entertainment. Pulp Tales, a 320 page black-and-white collection is illustrated soley by Bryant (who also wrote one of the stories) and features stories written by Tom King, Dirk Manning, Corinna Bechko & Gabriel Hardman, Genevieve Pearson, and over a dozen more.

Athena's adventures will have her spanning the globe, fighting off supernatural creatures, power-hungry occultists, and of course, Nazis. She'll also meet a number of the era's most famous figures along the way and become part of some of the most important moments in history.

“It's amazing to see the different takes on the character," said creator Steve Bryant. ”It's a real pleasure—and challenge—to tackle what each author has come up with."

According to co-editor and writer Chris Murrin, the book has something for everyone: "While the stories are action-packed in the pulp tradition, each author brought their own influences to the table as well, so there are elements of horror, romance, mystery, suspense, and even some philosophy in the mix.”

Athena Voltaire Pulp Tales joins the other Action Lab collections starring the raven-haired aviatrix. Fans can pick it up to hold them over until she returns with more comics in Athena Voltaire and the Sorcerer Pope in early 2018.

Athena Voltaire Pulp Tales is set for release on November 29th, 2017.
