AFTERGLOW TELLS THE STORY OF A GIRL AND HER MUTATED CAT

With the way things have been going lately, a post-apocalyptic world looks likely. With something like Afterglow, maybe it won’t be so bad. The new original graphic novel written by Pat Shand and illustrated by K. Lynn Smith follows a girl and her giant radioactive cat as they try to stop the world from ending…again.

Afterglow will be published by Space Between Entertainment later this year. The publisher is running a Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund the release of the graphic novel. Rewards include the comic itself, enamel pins, buttons, bookmarks, exclusive wood burned art pieces, and more.

"100 years ago, an event called The Glowing devastated 80% of the population, leaving the survivors with an Earth that has been changed. Water is radioactive, animals have mutated, and the world has been painted with beautiful, dangerous, glowing color.” says writer Pat Shand. “Most of the remaining society has broken into villages in attempt to rebuild the world they lost, but this mysterious girl, Lacey, and her giant cat have embraced this wild new world. Lacey has always been an outsider, but when she discovers her late mother's journal that foretells another apocalyptic event, Lacey and her giant, radioactive cat AFTER set forth on a journey to spread the word."

Artist K. Lynn Smith continues: "I am super stoked to be working on this project... It's going to be magical, it's going to be heartwarming, and it also has a massive mutant cat. I mean, what more could you want?"

At the time of this writing, the Afterglow Kickstarter campaign is very close to its $13,000 goal with three weeks remaining. I backed it myself.
