Episodic pixel-horror MANTRA announced

Studio: Dark Forest Media
Platforms: iOS, Android,
Release: “Coming soon...”

“Let's put it this way... If Resident Evil and Myst had a baby and it came out in a Super Nintendo cartridge looking like Minecraft, you would have MANTRA.” Wow. I may not have much information on Dark Forest Media's episodic, survival pixel-horror, but with a description like that, how can I not be excited about the fact that MANTRA – Episode One is coming soon to iOS, Android, and free-to-play browser game on the likes of, Gamejolt, and Newgrounds.

MANTRA is bringing its retro-horror vibes as a point-and-click journey, taking the player through a pixelated subterranean lair. Along the way they'll be tasked with solving puzzles, fighting off monsters described as “nightmare fuel”, reading journals to learn more about the world around them, and trying to survive with a strategic use of items. And that's pretty much all we know at this point... but aren't you intrigued?

I'll be getting in touch with the studio for more information, and trying to get my grubby mitts on a copy of MANTRA – Episode One when it's ready for release. Along with iOS, Android, and browsers, MANTRA will also be available for Windows and Mac in the form of a downloadable file. If you're interested in keeping up this pixel-horror, follow the studio on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
