NYCC 2017: GILES RETURNS TO SCHOOL IN NEW MINI-SERIES

If you're not up to date on the latest comic book only seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you've missed a few things. When it comes to Giles, the Watcher has died and then returned to life in the body of a child. This February, he'll be returning to school, but as a student this time. Dark Horse Comics has announced a new mini-series following Giles as he heads back to school to investigate some strange occurrences. The series will be written by Joss Whedon and Erika Alexander, illustrated by Jon Lam, and colored by Dan Jackson. Here's the write-up from the publisher:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Giles finds Rupert Giles returning to high school! But this time—as a grown man living in a teenage body—Giles will be a student instead of a teacher. At an inner-city Los Angeles school, when a mystical influence is detected and teachers start to go missing, Giles enrolls to investigate. What he finds is more than vampires and demons . . . something unusual and frightening is happening here. If Giles can get through one day as a student, he’ll have a chance to find out who, what, and where, but high school is still hell.

The first issue of the four part mini-series is set for release on February 28th, 2018. Steve Morris will be providing the main cover for the book and Arielle Jovellanos will be drawing the variants.
