ARKTIKA. 1, POST-APOCALYPTIC SHOOTER, IN DEVELOPMENT FOR OCULUS TOUCH
As you may know, if you read my article about my excitement for the potential of PlayStation VR, I'm feeling positive about the impact that VR will have on the gaming industry as it comes into its own. It's not quite there yet, but here comes information for ARKTIKA. 1, a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter coming to the Oculus Touch from the 4A Games, the studio behind the Metro series.
4A Games are doing what they know, and ARKTIKA. 1 is set in a world where everything is looking pretty bleak. The planet is freezing over once again, and only small pockets of humanity are managing to survive. This is thanks, in large part, to you, as a mercenary of Citadel Security. It is up to you to protect your colony in the wastelands of old Russia from a mix of marauders and "horrifying creatures".
Using the Oculus Touch, players will have full body control and be able to interact with objects in the environment, dodge, and take cover. Players will also be able to customise their own weapons with new attachments, and even build their own from scratch. It sounds like weapons will be needed, too, because "ARKTIKA.1 immerses you in a post-apocalyptic society facing technological and biological horrors that threaten the twilight of mankind."
ARKTIKA.1 is set to bring its post-apocalyptic sci-fi shooting to Oculus Touch in Q3 2017. Pricing and release date are yet to be announced, but keep up with updates as they come by heading to 4A Games' website or liking their page on Facebook.
