THE UNSOUND TAKES YOU TO CRAZY TOWN THIS JUNE

Is Cullen Bunn the hardest working man in comics? The guy writes something like thirty comics a month. It's insane. BOOM! Studios has announced that he's adding another title to his roster with The Unsound, set to debut in June with artist Jack T. Cole. The book centers on Ashli, a young woman caught in the center of a strange supernatural conspiracy that reveals a terrifying version of our world she's never imagined. This sounds creepy as Hell. Here's the full write-up from the publisher:

Ashli’s first day as a nurse at Saint Cascia Psychiatric Hospital turns into a nightmare as a bloody riot sends her fleeing into the bowels of the hospital. As this unsettling descent takes her to a hellish world populated by lunatics and monsters, cloaked in a secret history of black magic and heinous scientific experiments, she’s forced to ask one horrifying question: Is there such a thing as sanity?

The Unsound is a surreal, scary story, full of chilling encounters and haunting experiences, and it delves deep into the nature of reality, perception and insanity,” says Bunn “It's territory that I find myself drawn to frequently, and in many ways, this is a sister series to The Empty Man. Here, though, we're exploring a new landscape and developing a new horrific mythos.”

Cole adds, “As an artist, working with Cullen Bunn's creative genius for horror offers up many exciting opportunities to visually explore the genre."

The Unsound #1 is set to debut at local comic shops and digitally in June 2017.
