ZENESCOPE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES TWO NEW TITLES

In my neverending effort to keep up to date on just about all the comics being published today, I've fallen a bit behind on the titles coming from Zenescope Entertainment.  That's my fault and I'm looking to rectify that in the near future.  The publisher has recently announced two new titles that will definitely give me the kick in the pants to catch up.

First up is Escape from Monster Island from writer Joe Tyler and artist Carlos Granda.  The book is set on an abandoned island in the Pacific Ocean where the US government built a walled city years ago to serve as an experimental testing facility for a number of monsters.  In 2012, disaster struck and the island was evacuated.  Now it's overrun by a ton of terrifying creatures and beings, but something extremely valuable was left behind and some very rich people will stop at nothing to get their hands on it.

Escape from Monster Island sounds a bit like a monster heist movie which immediately has my attention.  Based on the covers, the creatures seen within include a vampire, a werewolf, and a zombie, among others.  No specific release date has been provided for the first issue, but you can expect it later this month.

Next on the docket is Hellchild from writer Pat Shand and artist Vincenzo Riccardi.  It follows Angelica Blackstone, a half-Greek god, half-vampire who was just brought back from the dead by monster hunter Liesel Van Helsing.  (This is why I have to catch up because the last I read, Liesel was dead.)  Angelica joins a gang of Viking vampire junkies living in the underbelly of New York City...you know, that old story.  She's got a helluva ax to grind with her absentee father, Hades, who she blames for her death.

Hellchild is set to debut in March 2016 with covers by Edgar Salazar, Harvey Tolibao, Mike Krome, and Jason Metcalf.
