8-BIT JASON GETS HIS BOOGIE ON
While technology moves on and brings us ever higher resolutions in entertainment, there are those who still look back fondly to the days of 8-bit graphics and retro soundtracks. 8-bit horror music is a thing, you know. And even toy company Neca acknowledged the trend with its SDCC release of an 8-bit Jason Voorhees figure.
Now Swedish composer Magnus Sellergren is getting in on the act with the release of Voorhees Stomp as a taster for his forthcoming debut CD, Pre-Cert and remix EP Camp Blood which will both be released through Cineploit. Check out the official info below and the video, an 8-bit tribute to Friday the 13th Part VIII:
Jason Takes Manhattan.
Swedish composer/producer Magnus Sellergren, aka Videogram, just released the first video from his coming Cineploit debut album "Pre-Cert". Titled "Voorhees Stomp", the video, directed by Aaron Romero, is a tongue-in-cheek 8-bit tribute to Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.
Mixing the 1989 movie with the 1989 "Friday the 13th" NES game, the video sees the iconic Jason Voorhees showing off his "killer moves" in Crystal Lake and New York City.
With both Videogram and director Romero being fans of the franchise, every kill from the movie has been carefully recreated with reverence, detail and a healthy dose of humor. The "Pre-Cert" LP/CD/download will be released on November 13th. "Camp Blood EP", a limited edition 10" picture disc/download featuring the remixes of the track and more, will be released on December 18th.
