Is it safe to call The Walking Dead a phenomenon now?  With a successful 100+ issue ongoing comic series, two TV shows, multiple video games, and its own convention, it's certainly a pop culture tour de force.  James Frazier and Eric Nordhoff, hosts of Skybound's The Walking Dead Presents The Walker Stalkers Podcast created the Walker Stalker Con two years ago as a fan meetup.  It has since grown to a worldwide tour across dozens of cities both at home and abroad, plus a partnership with Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead and his company, Skybound.  Now they're looking to bring it to a new level through Kickstarter with The Walking Dead Experience.

The Walking Dead Experience: Chapter 1 will incorporate the use of two tractor trailers, tents, sets, light and sound design, live actors, responsive video, puzzles, obstacles, puzzles, costuming and more.  The goal is for a fan and a team to enter the world of The Walking Dead and, through the use of skill and teamwork, figure out to how to get out alive...or get eaten (not really, of course.  No one will actually be eaten alive...right?)

"Working with the creator of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman, to develop the most intense, realistic immersive experience in the world of walkers is a dream come true and something attendees of Walker Stalker Con will love and never forget!"  says Frazier.

Frazier and Nordhoff are teaming up with Michael Counts and Katie Fleming, who are some top talent in the field of immersive theatrical experiences.  I was unaware that that was a term until I read up on this Kickstarter campaign.  This sounds like a pretty awesome trip and something that any fan of The Walking Dead would absolutely love.

The Kickstarter campaign runs through September 13th, 2015.  At the time of this writing, it has already met and surpassed its $60,000 goal.  Rewards include Twitter follows (Seriously, four people have paid $100 each for @TheWalkingDead to follow them on Twitter), day passes, autographs, co-host spots, and more.
