Growing up isn't easy, but it's certainly a helluva lot tougher if hordes of supernatural monsters are trying to kill you.  That's where Josiah and Zoe Latimer find themselves in Goners from Image Comics.  The book, written by Jacob Semahn and illustrated by Jorge Corona, followed these two children after the tragic death of their parents, Raleigh and Evelyn Latimer, who served as mankind's first line of defense against everything that went bump in the night.

The first story arc, entitled “We All Fall Down” has been collected in a value-priced trade paperback that is now available in comic shops.  I've reviewed most of the single issues and I can assure you it's definitely worth checking out.  The comic has been described as “Hellboy meets The Goonies” and with a comparison like that, there's no reason to skip it.  Check out a synopsis of the series as well as a new trailer below.

In a world where the mortal co-exists with the mythic, a single family through the ages stands as the first line of defense against all that go bump in the night. The latest generation has turned the ancestral tradition into a profitable brand. They are the Family Latimer…
…and this is the end of their story.

Goners: Volume 1 is currently available at local comic shops.  It will be available at book stores and Amazon on May 12th, 2015.  You can order it via the links below.
