PUNK ROCK LIVES IN CURB STOMP
Not satisfied with the amount of titles it currently has on my pull list, BOOM! Studios has announced Curb Stomp, described as "a no-holds-barred, visceral look at the lengths one woman will go to protect her home." Written by Ryan Ferrier and illustrated by Devaki Neogi, the comic sounds like it's dripping with exploitation era goodness. It follows the leader of the all girl gang, The Fever named Machete Betty (I'm already in love with this), concerned with protecting her turf at Old Beach. When she kills a rival gang member in self defense, she sets off a chain reaction of retaliation that's right out of The Warriors.
"Turf wars, fierce ladies, teeth-rattling action—Ryan and Devaki are going to be keeping readers on the edge of their seats with this series," said BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon. "It's got everything we love about punk rock, and it's got everything we love about a good story. There's a lot of heart in this one. It's just studded with spikes."

The other members of The Fever are as follows: Derby Girl, Bloody Mary, Daisy Chain, and Violet Volt. I'm in based on that roster alone. Curb Stomp #1 will be available on February 25th and will feature a main cover by Tula Lotay for $3.99. Also available will be a 10 Years Anniversary incentive cover by Trevor Hairsine and a retailer incentive cover by Marie Bergeron.
