The Black Dahlia Haunting, Underneath, and Chariot coming your way from Origin Releasing this month.

From the press release:
Origin Releasing has revealed their three latest features: The Black Dahlia Haunting, Chariot and Underneath. The Black Dahlia Haunting, which will be released on DVD on November 12th, is currently a top ten hit, currently ranked #3 at Redbox nationwide. The original horror film has won awards via The Pollygrind Film Festival, Shockfest Film Festival, Nerdremix and Matchflick Flicker Awards. The historically based story follows an aspiring actress in Los Angeles in 1947 named Elizabeth Short (Alexis Iacono) that is found brutally murdered in an empty lot in Los Angeles. The media dubs her "The Black Dahlia" due to her penchant for dark clothing. Her murder remains unsolved to this day, although it's not without its suspects. The film also stars scream queen Devanny Pinn (The Penny Dreadful Picture Show) and Britt Griffith (“Ghost Hunters”).

Chariot, which will be released on DVD on November 12th, is a science fiction thriller about seven strangers that wake aboard a passenger jet in mid-flight with no idea how they got there - and no idea where they are headed. Cut off from the cockpit and with a dying smartphone as their sole source of communication, they learn the U.S. is under a devastating attack - and they might be the only survivors. The film stars Anthony Montgomery (Star Trek: Enterprise) and Larry Jack Dotson (Bernie).

Underneath, which will be in Redbox nationwide in December 2013 and released on DVD January 7th, 2014, is sci-fi thriller about a young newlywed couple (Holt Boggs and Natalie Wilemon) that find themselves trapped in a network of underground caves. With her husband injured, the new bride is forced to find her way back to the surface in order to save his life. In the process, they discover a terrifying truth about the "underneath" - they are not alone. Something evil is hunting them.

Origin Releasing’s upcoming slate of films includes a 2014 theatrical release of Bigfoot Wars, starring C. Thomas Howell (Red Dawn) and Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club), based on the bestselling book series by Eric S. Brown. Other acquisitions from Toronto Film Festival, La Femme Film Festival and the upcoming American Film Market (AFM) will be announced soon.

The synopsis for Chariot reminds me of the John Cusak film Identity, which itself reminded me Dean Koontz's novel Strangers. I'm always a sucker for films and books like that.

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
