A while back I read and very much enjoyed Stephen Rebello's Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho for review for the site. So naturally I was excited to learn that a film was being made based on that book (where we first reported here).

Hitchcock is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock's seminal movie Psycho.

The film's impressive cast includes Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcok, Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh, Jessica Biel as Vera Miles and also stars Helen Mirren, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D'Arcy, Michael Wincott, Richard Portnow, and Kurtwood Smith and is directed by Sacha Gervasi with a screenplay by John J. McLaughlin.

Hitchcock opens in select theaters on November 23rd, 2012.

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
