Not satisfied with the creepy web videos its been releasing, The ScareHouse, a haunted house based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has launched a new webseries called Scare U.
Scare U will be covering a variety of topics like creepy clowns and the evolution of fear every Wednesday until Halloween.
The series is hosted by sociologist Dr. Margee Kerr, whose focus is on the why of horror...why we find things scary, and how our reactions to frightening things have evolved over time. Scare U will explore topics from zombies to dolls to phobias and everything in between, with lots of creepy footage from both the ScareHouse and horror films and TV shows. The whole series can be found on the ScareHouse's YouTube channel.
I have to admit, I had some reservations about these, expecting to be nothing more than extended advertisements for The ScareHouse, but having watched the first three that's not the case (with the exception of the placement and size of the logo — that is really annoying). Granted, there are shots from the haunted house mixed in with the episodes, but they aren't intrusive or obnoxious. These are fun little shorts, each running two to three minutes a pop and are an enjoyable watch.
