The Aztec Box, the upcoming found footage film, is currently being shot in Fullerton, California. The first images from the movie show a group of students unearthing a wooden crate that contains the titular box.

The Aztec Box follows four college students making a homemade reality show for an assignment. Strange things start happening after the group unearths an ancient Aztec sarcophagus from their backyard.

Good times.

Found footage films are interesting as they tend to be hit or miss. They are either fantastic or...not. You either have The Blair Witch Project or The Devil Inside; there's not a lot of wiggle room. I'm pulling for the filmmakers here as there seems to be more garbage than gold in this genre that I love.

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
