While it doesn't come out until September, House at the End of the Street has a trailer out today, as well as an image from the film.

Synopsis:

Newly divorced Sarah and her daughter Elissa find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret.

While Jennifer Lawrence is the big name draw to this movie after her success in movies like The Hunger Games and Winter's Bone, those of us who represent Generation X will be showing some respect for Elisabeth Shue, babysitter extraordinaire (among other things).

And am I the only one that thinks this smells just a bit like The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane? That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. That movie is fantastic.

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
