Not worth mentioning, no names you'll ever see again!
Rebellious teenagers, horny parents, it all goes to hell when one of the cheating spouses is infected with a venereal disease that causes the female partner to become a crazed flesh eating monster! Why is it only the parents are fooling around? Well in this small town even though the young men aren't much to speak about, the teenage girls have been hit with the ugly stick!
As the kids try to fight this epidemic of cannibalistic mothers, they enlist the help of the coroner and a nurse from the local "Board of Health". In case you don't know, the BOH is where you go when you report a social disease. A cover-up at the highest level in the police department impedes their efforts to alert the town to this gruesome menace.
In good old fashioned cannibal fun, these flesh eating mothers eat their kids, lovers neighbors etc. Filmed in 1988 Flesh Eating Mothers has one message: "Keep it in your pants!"
This is a terrible film, but that's never stopped me from enjoying low budget fun. In spite of the poor acting, amateur camera work and weak script, Flesh Eating Mothers is enjoyable in the way you can enjoy films on MST3K. This really could have been a good candidate for a Joe Bob Briggs commentary track!
At IMDB I was reading that this was a "Christian splatter flick". I've never heard of that before, but can see from the message of the film that it could be. In that case, you could say the Friday the 13th series is "Christian splatter" as well. Isn't the message there that if you have premarital sex you get killed? We could attach that to the entire slasher genre then...
There's no nudity in this film, which considering, may be a good thing. I don't think I'd want to see anybody nude in this flick, well except for the tall Nurse Dodd from the VD clinic... In spite of all this, I'm going to recommend you buy or rent Flesh Eating Mothers. Maybe this is to share the pain or laugh at the unintended humor?
Video and Audio:
Clearly this was shot on 16mm film. The film has the expected grain and low budget feel of that format. Elite has done a pretty decent job of cleaning it up, I was pretty impressed. It's also presented in a widescreen 16x9 1.85. Not bad for a indie flick!
Flesh Eating Mothers has a Dolby Digital 2.0 mono track. It's clean and free of defects. You just have to get by the corny songs though...
Just a beatup trailer. But then again, who would really want a commentary or making of featurette with this schlock?
