EGOMANIAC - KATE SHENTON'S DARK COMEDY HORROR
Suspension, sex toys and psychotic clowns. You can't say that British director Kate Shenton doesn't mix it up when it comes to the themes of her films. Having previously graced the Frightfest screens with her documentary On Tender Hooks, a study of the practice and community surrounding human suspension, and her short Send in the Clowns she is returning to the festival again to present her latest film to the Frightfest audience for its world premiere. Egomaniac is Kate Shenton's second feature and follows the story of a frustrated female director trying to shoot a romantic zombie comedy while fending off interference from her meddling producers who want to add a talking dog to her film. Read on for the official info and view the trailer below.
Compromise, Can Kill
All filmmaker Catherine Sweeney (Nic Lamont) wants to do is make a horror film - a zombie romantic comedy with heart and a lot of guts! But her Producers have other ideas. A story of filmmaking at any cost, Catherine will make all the changes necessary to just finish her film but little does she know, too much...
Written & Directed by Kate Shenton, starring Nic Lamont and Adam Rhys Davies (The Twins Macabre). EGOMANIAC also features Laurence Harvey (Human Centipede 2 & 3) and Dan Palmer (Stalled, Banjo) with an Original Score by Eric Elick (Rats, The Package) and is produced by Sarah Barker (Garden Gate Arts) & Sidney Malik (CryptTV).
Kate Shenton's previous work includes the acclaimed feature documentary On Tender Hooks as well as her slate of must-see short films including GIMP and Send In The Clowns.
Egomaniac receives its world premiere on Sunday 28th August at 3.55pm in Discovery Screen One. For tickets go to: http://www.frightfest.co.uk/tickets.html
