GAME OF DEATH EUROPEAN PREMIERE AT HORROR CHANNEL FRIGHTFEST 2017

No, not the final film of the late Bruce Lee, this Game of Death is a French-Canadian horror series of eight ten-minute episodes that will be shown together as one feature at Frightfest 2017. Like last year's game-based hit, Beyond the Gates, this too features a retro board game that results for nothing but mayhem and carnage for those that play it. The film's directing duo, Laurence “Baz” Morais and Sebastien Landry, have been working as partners for years. They are prolific, award-winning Montreal-based directors and artists behind some of the most striking commercials, web experiences, series and music videos coming out of Quebec and beyond. This is Sebastien’s second feature, Laurence's first and their first feature as a team.

Evoking both Jumanji (doesn't anything that features a wayward board game?) and Battle Royale, the series follows seven friends in the middle of small town nowhere who are forced to kill or be killed when they unwittingly play the Game of Death. When faced with their own mortality, will they turn on each other to survive?

Synopsis

Kill or be killed is the golden rule of the Game of Death, which sucks for seven decent-looking millennials who decide to play one sunny day. They quickly and gruesomely realize that if they don't murder people, their heads will literally explode. Hence, they go on a killing spree, taking the lives of anyone they meet in their middle-of-nowhere town. The killer-instinct in each of them bubbles to the surface as the search for victims unravels into chaos. Divided, terrified and confronted with their own mortality, their drive to survive blurs with their desire to win the game. Will they turn on each other? Jumanji meets Natural Born Killers... The Game of Death will blow your mind.

Game of Death is a Blackpills, Rockeline and La Guerilla production.
